This topic provides a brief guide to the components of PEN3D's Zoom Window user interface. Click on the text balloons or scroll down for detailed descriptions.

Zoom Window

 

The Zoom Window displays the digital terrain model as a plan view with north upwards on the screen.  There are various options to display the data described in this section.  The zoom window is created by selecting the menu item or the button on the Program Toolbar.

Zoom Window Toolbars

 

The Zoom Window Toolbars provide quick access to the most frequently-used functions in the zoom window. These are the digitising and view manipulation functions. 

 

Messages

 

The bottom of the screen provides messages about the current operations or the tool selected.  The bottom of the main program window contains the current project name in the left hand box.  The next box along shows the currently selected drawing tool, while the long right box contains various messages which are displayed as required.

 

The bottom pane of the Zoom Window contains the x,y coordinates in meters of the mouse pointer as it moves across the digitising area.  In some circumstances it also displays the change in the x and y values as well as the distance. in meters.
