PEN3D is recognised for its clear and intuitive user interface. The program is built around the two main workspaces that includes the integrated, full-featured digitising screen with full support for maps as backdrops and complex terrain models.
One workspace emulates the appearance of a CAD packages with the properties details on the left. The second workspace emulates the appearance of a spreadsheet. Multiple windows can be opened simultaneously to permit multiple views of the data.
